  1. MAKING CONTACT

You can contact us directly or through somebody else acting on your behalf either by phone, email or through our website. Many referrals for housing on behalf of individuals come to us through statutory agencies such as the local authority, mental health or probation services, or other care providers so, if you are supported by any of these bodies, they could contact us on your behalf.

  1. MEETING US

We ask you to complete a housing application form which we can assist with if that would be helpful and then we arrange to meet with you to discuss your needs and preferences.

  1. DISCUSSING YOUR NEEDS

We ask you to tell us about the kind of property you are looking for. We would discuss with you whether you want to live alone or in shared setting; whether you have a family who will be living with you; what area or type of neighbourhood would you prefer to live in, whether you want access to a garden or not and so forth. We would also discuss your financial position at this point and finding a way to enable you to afford your housing.

  1. PROPERTY SEARCH

We would now start to search for the type of housing you need. We may already have an appropriate property within our extensive housing stock or else we will search for appropriate housing for you more widely.

  1. VISITING A PROPERTY

In order to ensure the property we have found is what you are looking for, we normally invite you, your family, your social worker or key worker to visit the property.

  1. SECURING YOUR NEW HOME

If all are agreed that we have found the right property for you, we now work with you to ensure that you will be able to maintain your tenancy with us by ensuring that funds are available for you to be able to pay the rent and utilities. We offer all the support we can with this matter.

  1. MOVING IN

As you are moving in, we spend some time with you explaining the terms of your tenancy, the relationship between you and Future HSC, and who to contact if you have any concerns around your finances, your property and/or your health.

We also make you aware of the other services Future HSC can offer you including our Domiciliary Home Care And Support Service  and the support offered to you as a tenant by our Housing Officers  whose dedicated role is to enable you to maintain a stable and comfortable life in your property and to become as independent as possible within your community.
